Mrs. Amanda Kmett
Amanda graduated from Lock Haven University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Education, specializing in General Science and Biology, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry with a concentration in Environmental Biology.
She taught in the Anne Arundel County School District in Maryland from 2000 to 2003 before leaving to become a stay-at-home mother to her triplets, two identical daughters and a son. Shortly after their birth, Amanda and her husband, Tim, who is also a teacher, moved to Mount Wolf, Pennsylvania. Amanda homeschooled their four children for two years before moving to Bangladesh in 2016, where she taught a variety of middle and high school subjects at William Carey Academy. In 2021, her family moved back to the States so that her daughters could attend Clark Summit University. She continued teaching remotely for the school for an additional three years.
From 2016 to 2026, Amanda also served with GEG, an international educational organization dedicated to providing transformational education worldwide. Recently, Amanda felt God leading her back into the classroom at Canaan, and she is excited for the opportunity to invest in students' lives once again. She continues to volunteer with GEG, providing member support throughout West Asia.
When she is not teaching, Amanda enjoys exploring God's creation with her family. She loves spending time outdoors, hiking, gardening, soaking up sunshine, and rescuing animals.
